John Bennett (born 1934 in Blackrock County Cork) is an Irish former sportsperson. He played hurling with his local club Blackrock and was a member of the Cork senior inter-county team from 1960 until 1968.John Bennett was born in Blackrock just outside Cork in 1934. From an early age he showed great talent as a hurler and he later played club hurling with the famed Blackrock side. With “the Rockies” Bennett won Cork SHC titles in 1956 and 1961.
