John Barry (July 16 1799 – November 19 1859) was an Irish-born prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He was the second Bishop of Savannah Georgia (1857–1859).Barry was born in Oylegate County Wexford to Sylvester and Mary (Donohue) Barry and while an ecclesiastical student in Ireland attached himself to the Diocese of Charleston South Carolina where he completed his theological studies. He was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop John England on September 24 1825.
