Johann Peter Pixis (10 February 1788 – 22 December 1874) was a German pianist and composer born in Mannheim Germany.He lived in Paris between 1825 and 1845 where he worked as a concert pianist. In 1845 he moved to Baden-Baden where he taught piano until his death.Among his many musical works he was involved with the composition in 1837 of Hexaméron (six composers contributed and the third variation on Bellini’s theme is by Pixis).
