Jim Koch (pronounced /kʊk/ cook; born May 27 1949) is the co-founder and chairman of the Boston Beer Company the producers of Samuel Adams. He co-founded the company in 1984 along with Harry M. Rubin and Lorenzo Lamadrid. He is an American entrepreneur and former consultant with The Boston Consulting Group. He was formerly an Outward Bound instructor. Koch earned a Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration both from Harvard University.
