Jeffrey Smulyan born 6 April 1947 in Indianapolis Indiana is the founder and CEO of Emmis Communications.He earned undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Southern California.In the early 1990s Smulyan was an owner of the Seattle Mariners. In 2005 Smulyan was in the running to purchase the Washington Nationals baseball team. The bid was unsuccessful.
