The Jatiyo Samajtantrik Dal (Bengali: জাতীয় সমাজতান্ত্রিক দল ‘National Socialist Party’ abbreviated JSD or ‘জাসদ’ Jasod) is a political party in Bangladesh.The party founded in 1972 through the merger of socialist political activists and military officers. It was founded under the leadership of Major (Retired) Abdul Jalil a freedom fighter from Barisal District and was also joined by pro-Awami League top ranking student leaders like ASM Abdur Rab & Shahjahan Siraj.
