James Steptoe Johnston (1843–1924) was a bishop of the Episcopal Church in the United States of America. He was the last bishop of the missionary district of west Texas and the first bishop of the Diocese of West Texas. He is remembered predominately for his contributions to education most notably including the foundation of TMI — The Episcopal School of Texas.
