Italians of Ethiopia are the colonists from Italy who moved to colonize Ethiopia in the 20th century and their descendants. Italians attempted in 1936 to colonize Ethiopia while mounted a military occupation lasting five years. In 1941 with an Allies offensive during WWII British and Ethiopians defeated the would-be colonists and restored Emperor Haile Selassie’s rule.
