In enzymology an isohexenylglutaconyl-CoA hydratase (EC 4.2.1.57) is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reaction3-hydroxy-3-(4-methylpent-3-en-1-yl)glutaryl-CoA 3-(4-methylpent-3-en-1-yl)pent-2-enedioyl-CoA + H2OHence this enzyme has one substrate 3-hydroxy-3-(4-methylpent-3-en-1-yl)glutaryl-CoA and two products 3-(4-methylpent-3-en-1-yl)pent-2-enedioyl-CoA and H2O.This enzyme belongs to the family of lyases specifically the hydro-lyases which cleave carbon-oxygen bonds.
