Isoceteth-20 is the polyethylene glycol ether of isocetyl alcohol that conforms generally to the formula HO(C2H4O)nC16H33 where n has an average value of 20. It is used in cosmetics as an emulsifier and surfactant. It is found in acne-fighting medications styling gels shampoos facial cleansing products mascara anti-aging creams liquid soaps astringents artificial tanning products and eye creams.[citation needed]
