Irish Jimmy Smith (January 23 1930 – September 26 2013) was a boxer from Boston Massachusetts who moved to Oakland California with his wife Betty in the mid 50’s to continue his professional boxing career. Smith was managed by Jack (Curly) Mendonca. Smith was in the Lightweight division and was a seasoned fighter when he boxed International Boxing Hall of Famer Jimmy Carter in 1959 in Richmond California. He also fought and lost to Chico Santos as well as Vic Cardot.
