The Iraq Division 1 is the second league in the Iraqi football system. Al-Karkh SC won the last season.The 42 teams were split into six groups. At the end of the regular season the top 3 teams from each group a total of 18 teams will advance to the next round. In the second round these 18 teams will be splite into three groups of 6 with teams playing a single game with each opponent in the group.
