The First Iranian presidential election was held on 25 January 1980. It was held one year after the Iranian Revolution when the Council of Islamic Revolution was in power. The number of the eligible voters in the country was 20993643. However the number of the actual voter was 14152887 leading to the voter turnout of 67.4%.
