The Instituto Camões (English: Camões Institute) is an institution created in 1992 for the world-wide promotion of the Portuguese language and culture. The Instituto Camões has administrative and patrimonial autonomy that under the supervision of the Portuguese Minister of Foreign Affairs assures the co-ordination and execution of the external cultural policies of Portugal.
