The drug combination hydrocodone/ibuprofen (INNs trade name Vicoprofen) is an analgesic medication used in short-term therapy to relieve severe pain. Hydrocodone is used in form of the bitartrate. This combination avoids some of the liver toxicity which may occur with hydrocodone/paracetamol combinations such as Vicodin but still presents significant dangers in hydrocodone overdose namely respiratory depression.
