Howard Lang (20 March 1911 – 12 December 1989) was a British actor best known for playing Captain William Baines in the BBC nautical drama The Onedin Line. He served for seven years in the Royal Navy during World War II.For his role as seafaring Captain Baines in The Onedin Line (1971–1980) he gained international attention.
