In enzymology a homoisocitrate dehydrogenase (EC 1.1.1.87) is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reaction(1R2S)-1-hydroxybutane-124-tricarboxylate + NAD+ 2-oxoadipate + CO2 + NADH + H+Thus the two substrates of this enzyme are (1R2S)-1-hydroxybutane-124-tricarboxylate and NAD+ whereas its 4 products are 2-oxoadipate CO2 NADH and H+.This enzyme belongs to the family of oxidoreductases specifically those acting on the CH-OH group of donor with NAD+ or NADP+ as acceptor.
