Hindko (Hindko: ہندکو ALA-LC: Hindko IPA: [hɪnd̪koː]) also Pahari and Panjistani is a dialect of Western Punjabi (Lahnda) of the Indo-Aryan (Indic) language family spoken in Northern Pakistan. Hindko is closely related to the dialects of Upper Punjab Pakistan which include Pothohar Plateau and Azad Kashmir regions in general as well. Hindko follows the standardized Punjabi Shahmukhi script for writing.
