These are hill forts within the state of Rajasthan mainly based in the Aravalli mountain range and built between the 5th century AD and 17th-18th century AD. They include the six forts on the world heritage list: Chittorgarh Fort Kumbhalgarh Fort Ranthambore Fort Gagron Fort Amber Fort and Jaisalmer Fort. There are also the fort palaces of Udaipur Bikaner Dungarpur Bundi Kota and Mehrangarh Fort .Chittorgarh Fort Kumbhalgarh Fort are examples of Mewar forts.
