Hikaru Nakamura (中村光 Nakamura Hikaru born December 9 1987) is an American chess grandmaster. He is ranked No. 7 in the world by FIDE on the February 2014 rankings and is a three-time United States Chess Champion.Nakamura is currently the highest United States Chess Federation (USCF) rated player at 2854 well ahead of second placed Gata Kamsky as published in the March 2014 rating supplement. His peak USCF rating was 2882 in July 2012.
