High Marnham Power Station was a former coal-fired power station it was demolished on 15 July 2012 all 5 cooling towers were detonated on the same day. It was located in Nottinghamshire to the west of the River Trent approximately 0.5 mile north of the village of Marnham Nottinghamshire birthplace of Edmund Cartwright b1743. Inventor of the first Power Loom 1785/1787 and opened a Weaving Factory in nearby Doncaster.
