HD 176871 is a 6th magnitude star in the constellation Lyra approximately 700 light years away from Earth. It is a bluish white star of the spectral type B5V meaning it possesses a surface temperature of 11000 to 25000 kelvins and is a dwarf star like our Sun. Its surface is at least twice as hot as the Sun and it is several thousand times as luminous.
