HD 171301 and BD+30°3223B are two components of a binary star system in the constellation Lyra approximately 370 light years away from Earth. The brighter of the pair 5th magnitude HD 171301 is a subgiant star with the spectral type B8IV. It therefore possesses a surface temperature of 11000 to 25000 kelvins and is brighter larger and at least twice as hot as our Sun. Its companion BD+30°3223B is a 13th magnitude star of an unknown spectral type.
