A presidential election in Guinea was held under the two-round system: the first round on 27 June 2010 and the second round originally scheduled for 7 November after an initial date of 18 July and many other postponements. Alpha Condé has been provisionally declared the winner with 52.52% of the votes in the second round. The election came after a coup in 2008 and the attempted assassination of the junta leader Moussa Dadis Camara in December 2009.
