It is run at Baden-Baden over a distance of 2200 metres (about 1 mile and 3 furlongs) and it is scheduled to take place each year in late May or early June.The event was originally called the Grosser Preis der Badischen Wirtschaft and it was initially a 1800-metre race for horses aged three or older.
