Griffith Borgeson (December 21 1918 – June 29 1997) was an influential American race car historian described by the Society of Automotive Engineers as one of the world’s preeminent automotive historians.His most well-known work The Golden Age of the American Racing Car almost single-handedly rescued the memory of an entire era of brilliant race car work in the United States an era whose memory was being lost.Borgeson was editor-in-chief of Motor Trend magazine; he also wrote for Sports Car Illustrated magazine (now Car and Driver).
