Grasshopper Glacier is in the Beartooth Mountains Custer National Forest Montana U.S. The glacier is within the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness a part of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Grasshopper Glacier is approximately .20 miles (0.32 km) long and .25 mi (0.40 km) wide. Starting at a point more than 11300 feet (3400 m) above sea level the glacier originally was more than 5 mi (8.0 km) long but has receded significantly since first researched in the early 20th century.
