In enzymology a glycerophosphocholine phosphodiesterase (EC 3.1.4.2) is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reactionsn-glycero-3-phosphocholine + H2O choline + sn-glycerol 3-phosphateThus the two substrates of this enzyme are sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine and H2O whereas its two products are choline and sn-glycerol 3-phosphate.This enzyme belongs to the family of hydrolases specifically those acting on phosphoric diester bonds.
