In enzymology a glutamate N-acetyltransferase (EC 2.3.1.35) is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reactionN2-acetyl-L-ornithine + L-glutamate L-ornithine + N-acetyl-L-glutamateThus the two substrates of this enzyme are N2-acetyl-L-ornithine and L-glutamate whereas its two products are L-ornithine and N-acetyl-L-glutamate.This enzyme belongs to the family of transferases specifically those acyltransferases transferring groups other than aminoacyl groups.
