The Gijón International Film Festival (Asturian: Festival Internacional de Cine de Xixón) is an annual film festival held in Gijón a city in northwest Spain.The Festival’s origins date back to 1963. In the beginning it was an initiative of the City Council of Gijón in co-operation with Caja de Ahorros de Asturias (Cajastur).
