Gershom Mott Williams was born 11 February 1857 in Hamilton NY.He was elected first bishop of Marquette 14 November 1895 and consecrated 1 May 1896.He was on the commission appointed by the Archbishop of Canterbury in pursuance of resolution 74 of the Lambeth Conference of 1908 on the relation of the Anglican Communion to the Church of Sweden.He resigned October 1919.He died 14 April 1923.
