The 1994 Georgia Gubernatorial Election was held on November 8 1994. Governor Zell Miller (D) survived a strong challenge from Businessman Guy Millner (R) to win re-election. This race was the second closest gubernatorial election in Georgian history (with the 1966 election being the first) since Reconstruction due to the strong Republican wave of 1994. However Democrats would still maintain the Governor’s mansion until 2003.
