George Parker Winship A. M. (29 July 1871-22 June 1952) was an American librarian and author born at Bridgewater Mass. He was educated at Harvard where he graduated in 1893. He was librarian of the John Carter Brown Library at Providence R.I. from 1895 to 1915. Subsequently he took charge of the collection of rare books made by Harry Elkins Widener and housed in the new Widener Memorial Library at Harvard the largest important university library in the United States.
