George Armitage Chase MC (3 September 1886 – 30 November 1971) was Bishop of Ripon and Master of Selwyn College Cambridge.He served as an army chaplain in the first world war and was decorated with the Military Cross for conspicuous gallantry in helping the wounded at Ypres on 4 October 1917.The son of Frederic Henry Chase George Chase was educated at Rugby School and Queens’ College Cambridge graduating in 1908.Chase subsequently became a Fellow Dean and Honorary Fellow of Trinity Hall Cambridge and Canon of Ely.
