An early parliamentary election was held in Galicia on 21 October 2012 to elect the new parliament for the next four-year term. The election was held five months before scheduled.The main candidates for this election were incumbent President of Galicia Alberto Núñez Feijoo for the governing People’s Party; Pachi Vázquez the secretary-general of the Socialist Party of Galicia; and congressman Francisco Jorquera for the left-wing Galician Nationalist Bloc.
