Frank Hyde (October 8 1849–1937) was a British portrait and figure painter known for his Capri portraits of local model Rosina Ferrara and his friendship with John Singer Sargent.Hyde’s career started during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870–71 as a war artist. Later he moved to Capri where he discovered Ferrara and also introduced her to Sargent when he came to Capri in 1878.
