Francesco Gonin (Turin December 16 1808- Giaveno near Susa Piedmont September 14 1889) was an Italian painter engraver and scenographer.His father was of French stock and his mother Sara Castanier was from Germany. He initially studied under Giovanni Battista Biscarra in the Accademia Albertina and later learned fresco painting from Luigi Vacca. He married the daughter of the scenographer of the Teatro Regio at Turin.
