The Fort Wayne Komets are a minor league ice hockey team in the ECHL. The team was previously a member of the Central Hockey League and the International Hockey League before it ceased operations and several of its former teams joined the CHL in 2010. The Komets also played in the previous iteration of the International Hockey League from 1952 until 1999 when they joined the UHL (which took the IHL name in 2007).
