The football (soccer) tournament at the 2001 Southeast Asian Games was held in Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia. It included a men’s tournament and that year was the first edition of the Southeast Asian Games to include a women’s tournament. The men’s tournament was held from 1 September to 15 September 2001 while the women’s tournament was held from 4 September to 14 September 2001.
