Flunitrazepam /ˌfluːnɨˈtræzɨpæm/ — also known as Narcozep Rohypnol Rohipnol Roipnol or in the vernacular simply roofies — is an intermediate acting benzodiazepine used as an hypnotic sedative anticonvulsant anxiolytic and skeletal muscle relaxant drug.It was developed by a team led by Leo Sternbach at Hoffman La-Roche in produced the common precursors to 14-benzophenones in 1963.
