The Flower Bowl Invitational Stakes is an American Grade I race for thoroughbred fillies and mares run in early October at Belmont Park in Elmont New York. For horses ages three and up it is raced on turf at a distance of one and a quarter miles and offers a purse of $600000.In 1987 the race was run on dirt.The race was named for Flower Bowl a winner of the Ladies Handicap at Belmont Park and an outstanding broodmare. It is a major prep race to the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf.
