In enzymology a flavone apiosyltransferase (EC 2.4.2.25) is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reactionUDP-apiose + 574′-trihydroxyflavone 7-O-beta-D-glucoside UDP + 574′-trihydroxyflavone 7-O-[beta-D-apiosyl-(1->2)-beta-D-glucoside]Thus the two substrates of this enzyme are UDP-apiose and 574′-trihydroxyflavone 7-O-beta-D-glucoside whereas its 3 products are UDP 574′-trihydroxyflavone (apigenin) and [[7-O-[beta-D-apiosyl-(1->2)-beta-D-glucoside]]].This enzyme belongs to the family of glycosyltransferases specifically the pentosyltransferases.
