FlAsH-EDT2 is an organoarsenic compound used in bioanalytical research. It is a fluorescent label. The compound is a derivative of fluorescein. The fluorescin arsenical hairpin binder-ethanedithiol more commonly known as FlAsH-EDT2 is a pale yellow or pinkish fluorogenic solid with the molecular formula (C2H4AsS2)2-(C20H10O5). It is used in site-specific labeling of living cells. It binds to proteins containing the tetracysteine motif Cys-Cys-Xxx-Xxx-Cys-Cys and becomes fluorescent.
