The Federation of Free Workers (FFW) blasted into the Philippine labor scene when the Philippines lay in ruin after the Second World War. FFW cried for freedom which means free from communism from racketeers from capitalist control from politics and politicians and from government control.FFW is the oldest and one of the major general trade union federations in the Philippines.
