The Federal Department of Justice and Police (German: Eidgenössisches Justiz- und Polizeidepartement French: Département fédéral de justice et police Italian: Dipartimento federale di giustizia e polizia) is one of the seven departments of the Swiss federal government. It is headed by a member of the Swiss Federal Council the Swiss justice minister. Until 1979 the department was known as the Department of Justice and Police.
