The Federal Correctional Institution Butner Medium (FCI Butner Medium) is a medium-security United States federal prison in North Carolina. Part of the Butner Federal Correctional Complex (FCC Butner) it is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons a division of the United States Department of Justice. The facility also has an adjacent satellite camp that houses minimum-security male inmates.FCC Butner is located near the Research Triangle area of Durham Raleigh and Chapel Hill.
