Evgeny Bareev (born in a Tatar family on 21 November 1966) is a Russian (formerly Soviet) chess Grandmaster and chess coach. In October 2003 he was in fourth place in the world rankings with an Elo rating of 2739.Bareev was World Under-16 Champion in 1982 when his talent was first showcased internationally. Bareev was a member of the Russian national team in the two Chess Olympiads of 1994 and 1996. The biggest success in his career was winning the Corus super-tournament in Wijk aan Zee 2002.
