The European Parliament election of 2014 in Italy will take place on 25 May 2014. Italy will elect 73 MEPs out of 751 forming the European Parliament in its 8th term. At the national level an electoral threshold is set at 4% but representation for the German-speaking minority is guaranteed.Recent opinion polls have shown the Five Star Movement (M5S) and the Democratic Party (PD) in a statistical tie at just under 30% each while Forza Italia remains third.
