From 22 to 25 May 2014 elections to the European Parliament will be held in all member states of the European Union (EU). It will be the 8th Europe-wide election to the European Parliament since the first direct elections in 1979.The date was decided unanimously by the Council of the European Union. The 2014 elections will be held in late May instead of early June as had been the case with previous EP elections.
