The British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar is a special part of the European Parliament constituency combined region of South West England and Gibraltar. As such the votes from Gibraltar contribute to the total for the region but are also reported separately. For elections to the European Parliament in 2009 the vote in the region took place on 4 June 2009 with the results announced on 7 June 2009. The Conservatives won with 51% of the votes.
